As you may already know, I’m one of the reviewers for the popular UK teeth whitening reviews site, Nice Gnashers. After trying out several different teeth whitening products over the last few months, I definitely have my favourites! So, to celebrate National Smile Month, I thought I’d share my top 5 teeth whitening products with you to help you achieve that perfect pearly smile:
Dr Organic Activated Charcoal Toothpaste
At first, I wasn’t sure about this product, as I couldn’t see the dramatic change I was hoping for, i.e. I didn’t have blinding white teeth in 24 hours. However, while the whitening process was a little slow, the best thing about this product was that it was so easy to use. Unlike other whitening products, the Dr Organic Activated Charcoal Toothpaste can replace your normal toothpaste, so took no extra time out of my morning routine (a big thumbs up from me). Not only was it quick to use, but also, this product didn’t stain my teeth or toothbrush, which other charcoal products are renowned for and instead, freshened up my mouth a treat! While £4.99 may seem a bit pricey for your average toothpaste, if used for more than a week, the gradual whitening component in this product would certainly make it a viable purchase for anyone searching for a long-term whitening solution.
Rapid White Express Dissolving Tooth Whitening Strips
After reading several good reviews about this product, I was desperate to try it out and am really glad I did. After using the Rapid White Express Dissolving Tooth Whitening Strips for the seven-day period, I definitely noticed a clear difference in the colour of my teeth, which overall, I would say were at least two shades whiter. The strips were easy to use and initially tasted pretty good (as far as teeth whitening strips go), although this did wear off to reveal a more chemically flavour. The only thing a found a bit off-putting about this product was that the strips did tend to get quite sticky and took longer to dissolve than stated on the packaging – 10-15 minutes rather than 5-7 minutes. But, having said that, once I rinsed out my mouth, I was left refreshed with glimmering teeth!
Luster Pro Light Teeth Whitening System
At £49.99, the Luster Pro Light Teeth Whitening System definitely sits the heftier end of the scale when it comes to price. However, you do get quite a lot for your money with a whitening solution, a whitening activator gel and the blue light itself all included in this kit. When using this product, you can either opt for an express whitening treatment (10 treatments over two days) or a seven-day course; I chose the former, as I wanted to make my teeth whiter as quickly as possible. However, using it 10 times a day, my mouth did start to ache after the first batch of treatments, so this could be a problem for those who are particularly receptive to an achy jaw! The application process was pretty easy; all you had to do was paint the whitening solution and activator gel on to your teeth and leave them for 30 seconds before popping the light in your mouth to work its magic. Overall, I was really pleased with the results of this product and would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quick-fix whitening solution with no budget.
White Glo Diamond Series Tray
Again, much like the previous product, there was quite a lot included in the White Glo Diamond Series Tray; a White Glo daily toothpaste, the whitening treatment itself and an ‘instant fit’ mouth tray, which was pretty handy. Aside from being easy to use, one thing I really liked about this product was that it was a hands-free process, meaning I could do other really important things like having a Facebook stalk while it was working its magic. The only downside was that I found it quite difficult to prize out the contents of the whitening treatment tube as it was very thick. Apart from that, I would say this product was a good all-rounder, reasonably priced at £15 and left my teeth at least a shade or two whiter.
Coco White 2.0 Charcoal Oil Pulling 2-Week Kit
This product is one is one of the most Instagrammed treatments in teeth whitening history, and I’ve seen it featured in several magazines including Grazia and Elle, so I was super excited for this one. However, I was a little concerned about swilling oil around in my mouth for whole 15 minutes, but it definitely wasn’t as bad as I first thought. While the texture was a bit odd, the oil had a strong mint flavour, which distracted me during throughout the treatment. For two weeks of hard grind (swilling), the results were a little slow, and my teeth were only one shade whiter at the end. However, I think if you used this product for longer, you’d definitely see better results. Also, an unexpected plus of using this product was that the coconut oil made my lips super soft, which was lovely after months are dry, chapped lips!
